I run a Toshiba Satellite laptop with Windows vista. I recently recovered from a pretty severe crash where windows wouldn't even start, the screen went blue and did a memory dump after I tried to install alcohol 120% (wft?). After I got it up again I couldn't get it to read or eject discs. Following Hawkeye 4's advice i opened the drive. Now it ejects discs but won't recognize them.

The DVD rom is an YA3542U CGK622P SCSI CdRom Device. It claims to be working properly and any options for updating the drivers are unavailable.
