I have recently acquired a pretty nice little virus I would assume. I have taken my laptop to my school network administrator and had this thing checked out, but they could not figure out what was going on. In their defense, they could not run most of their anti-virus on this computer as it would not load. I tried launching with a different name though and I was able to run combofix, hijackthis, CCleaner, and spybot search & destroy, but I have no clue what I am looking at. Kapersky would not run for some reason.

This computer is on a network and is the only one showing any signs of infection (Dell Latitude D520 Windows XP SP3). I am really unsure as to what I need to post for assistance, nor do I know if it's better to post the results of the scans or to just attach the .txt(s); I am just following the instructions the best I can. The other computers on my network range from windows xp home and professional to vista home premium and ultimate, only 1 other pc is running windows xp service pack 3, but it still shows no signs of infection.

Edit: if it is of any concern, combofix would never run, the only way I managed to get it to run is via the Run command in the start menu and renaming the program to "ComboFixProgram" and typing it in manually, for some reason it WILL run on double-click now?! I did everything in safe mode with the help of a little flash drive. Avast will not pick up anything; but as for the others, I really have no idea what I am looking at.

I read the other threads with issues similar to mine, but fear taking the same steps as my problem may or may not be the same as theirs. This thing has plagued me for a little over a month now. I am quite scared of the fact that I have run so many different programs trying to eliminate this thing and I do not know if that may have caused some collateral damage even though it did clear up a few things - most of the symptoms are returning such as the redirecting, but oddly the programs that would not launch before are working fine with double-click but they "are" renamed with exception to gmer (it refuses to run no matter what I try).

The only noticeable problem is the internet search redirector, even redirects with a typed in address (or used to, it doesn't now after running just about every spyware and malware detection program I could get). It also blocks many anti-virus/malware detection programs from running. I am totally sure that is not all it does, but I am unaware of whatever else it is capable of. My school's network admin had said that it has likely sprouted roots and is deep in my system and possibly in the bios?! (this is like foriegn language to me). These are the hijackthis reports in both safe mode and normal mode and the DDS.txt (combofix and OTScan available as well, but says not to post?):
