Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan (Full scan is optional. According to the program's creator Quick Scan will do just fine.).
Click Scan.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.

If Malware is found...
Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
Please save it to your desktop.

NOTE: Logs can be retrieved at a later date from the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware main screen:

Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.
Click the Logs tab.
Double-click log-mm.dd.yyyy [xxxxxx].txt.

In your next reply, please include:
-The log from Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.
- A new HijackThis log

Download and scan with SUPERAntiSpyware Free for Home Users
  • Double-click SUPERAntiSpyware.exe and use the default settings for installation.
  • An icon will be created on your desktop. Double-click that icon to launch the program.
  • If asked to update the program definitions, click "Yes". If not, update the definitions before scanning by selecting "Check for Updates". (If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download and unzip them from here.)
  • Under "Configuration and Preferences", click the Preferences button.
  • Click the Scanning Control tab.
  • Under Scanner Options make sure the following are checked (leave all others unchecked):
    • Close browsers before scanning.
    • Scan for tracking cookies.
    • Terminate memory threats before quarantining.
  • Click the "Close" button to leave the control center screen.
  • Back on the main screen, under "Scan for Harmful Software" click Scan your computer.
  • On the left, make sure you check C:\Fixed Drive.
  • On the right, under "Complete Scan", choose Perform Complete Scan.
  • Click "Next" to start the scan. Please be patient while it scans your computer.
  • After the scan is complete, a Scan Summary box will appear with potentially harmful items that were detected. Click "OK".
  • Make sure everything has a checkmark next to it and click "Next".
  • A notification will appear that "Quarantine and Removal is Complete". Click "OK" and then click the "Finish" button to return to the main menu.
  • If asked if you want to reboot, click "Yes".
  • To retrieve the removal information after reboot, launch SUPERAntispyware again.
    • Click Preferences, then click the Statistics/Logs tab.
    • Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
    • If there are several logs, click the current dated log and press View log. A text file will open in your default text editor.
    • Please copy and paste the Scan Log results in your next reply.
  • Click Close to exit the program.

Hi

I have attached the results of the scan. I tried to install more memory on the system today, 4GB of memory thinking that it would help with virtual memory problem but system crashed, BSOD, dumping all sorts so had to take out the memory and now back running on what came with system.

Hi

I tried to install the malaware programme again, it still is saying i have a runtime error 440 when i try to use it. I removed it and installed it again with Spy bot search and destroy switched of incase it was conflicting with it and it gave the same error message.

Thanks

Please try the next:

STEP 1

  • Download and install SubInACL
  • By default it installs to: C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools
  • Either download this batch file to your desktop, or copy and paste the code below into a new NOTEPAD file and save it as updateMBperms.bat to your desktop
  • AFTER you have installed SubInACL then double click on either the downloaded batch file or the one you created to update the Registry permissions.
  • Note! Users on Vista will need to right click on the batch file and select Run as Administrator

@ECHO OFF
::Written to update registry permissions for Malwarebytes installation issues.
cd /d "%programfiles%\Windows Resource Kits\Tools"
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MBAMExt.MBAMShlExt /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f /grant=restricted=r /grant=%USERNAME%=f /setowner=administrators
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MBAMExt.MBAMShlExt.1 /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f /grant=restricted=r /grant=%USERNAME%=f /setowner=administrators
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SSubTimer6.CTimer /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f /grant=restricted=r /grant=%USERNAME%=f /setowner=administrators
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SSubTimer6.GSubclass /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f /grant=restricted=r /grant=%USERNAME%=f /setowner=administrators
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SSubTimer6.ISubclass /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f /grant=restricted=r /grant=%USERNAME%=f /setowner=administrators
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\vbAcceleratorSGrid6.cGridCell /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f /grant=restricted=r /grant=%USERNAME%=f /setowner=administrators
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\vbAcceleratorSGrid6.cGridSortObject /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f /grant=restricted=r /grant=%USERNAME%=f /setowner=administrators
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\vbAcceleratorSGrid6.IGridCellOwnerDraw /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f /grant=restricted=r /grant=%USERNAME%=f /setowner=administrators
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\vbAcceleratorSGrid6.vbalGrid /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f /grant=restricted=r /grant=%USERNAME%=f /setowner=administrators
ECHO .
ECHO All done. Please try to reinstall Malwarebytes now.
pause

STEP 2

Now try to reinstall Malwarebytes v1.30 again

STEP 3

Please let us know if this corrected the issue so that we can build this into the regular installer.

Please visit the webpage HERE for instructions for downloading and running ComboFix.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

hi

I waqsnt able to run the combo fix scan several warning messages came up 32788R2FWJFW\nircmd.com
Access to the specified device, path or file is denied being one then threatfire prevented Trojan-PWS.BANCOS from infecting my system. I have found a file on my system added recently with 2 programmes in it TCPview.exe and fport.exe being the other. I tried to re-run combo fix and it has said some fiels could not be found please restart your computer and retry.

Thanks

Geoff

Hi

Thanks maybe i am paranoid! I have changed all my passwords on my other laptop for email etc on this computer. I read the article about tcp and ran the scan......i have over 800 registry problems, oops!

I tried combo fix again and it is a read only file? I am unsure what is stopping these programmes from working should i uninstall spybot search and destroy tea timer threatfire and stop AVG resident shield. Or could i try downloading the MBAM and combo fix on my laptop putting it on USB and seeing if i can run programme from usb on my PC

Thanks

Geoff

Hi,

Please download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.

**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**

1. Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
2. Close any open browsers.
3. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
-----------------------------------------------------------

* Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
*Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
-----------------------------------------------------------

* Close any open browsers.
* WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
* Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
* If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.

-----------------------------------------------------------
4. Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
5. When finished, it will produce a report for you.
6. Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.

**Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**

you may need to post the logs over 2 replies to ensure all the information is posted.
