I have a PC with XP sp2 that I cleaned up some malware and lost my network interface. It shows an error state in the device controller. I uninstalled the NIC and tried to reinstall the driver. i get an error to the effect of windows management instrumentation error 1053.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you get this error when you try to install the network driver?
You need to reinstall net.framework
