When I try to use my command.exe file, the window pops up for about 3 seconds then disappears. I have tried creating another shortcut for it but I can't find any more information on this problem.

Open the Command window first, then type the command.
Start> Run> cmd> = Command Prompt Window

Start> All Programs> Accessories> Command Prompt = Command Prompt Window.

Now type command.exe

When you type command.exe in the Run box it opens up the program and displays the version of Windows and then closes in 3 seconds.

Just do what scorpsteals said.
