When I open certain programs i.e AIM and sometimes iTunes, they will stay open for 2-3 seconds and then close automatically. Also the sound when I go online doesn't work... so I can't hear music on the web or sound from games. I've scanned with Hijack this and have the log file if it is needed.

If it's clean, there's no need.
If it's not clean, then follow the instructions in the link.
