I have a similar problem  on an HP Pavilion dv2000 laptop.
MOD EDIT: Problem is similar to this thread: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/178904/vista-wont-load/

Has there been further discussion on this topic?

"I'd have to suggest locating the memory dump files and performing the analysis on them." How does one perfom this action?

Thanks to your very helpful website.

You can perform an analysis of the dump files using this link: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/176011/how-to-receive-help-diagnosing-blue-screens-and-windows-crashes/

But it would help us more if you'd include a description of your specific symptoms.
