Recently as I was working on my laptop, I accidentally dropped it and it stopped working.
I have regained it back, but here is the problem that I'm hoping you will help me with:
When I try to log in to a user, it tells me: "Windows cannot load the locally stores profile...because of a corrupt local profile. Profile cannot be loaded."
After that, it takes me to the desktop which has no taskbar, no icons, just the wallpaper.
I pressed 'Ctrl+Alt+Del', there's no applications, but here is what it gives me in the Processes:
ati2evxx.exe
zumie..exe
cvpnd.exe
avguard.exe
sched.exe
svchost.exe
svchost.exe
svchost.exe
ati2evxx.exe
lsass.exe
services.exe
winlogon.exe
csrss.exe
smss.exe
taskmgr.exe
System
System Idle Process SYSTEM (with a CPU of 99)

What do I need to do? I can't access anything.

Thank you!

Can you open the Control Panel by opening the Task Manager, going to New Task and typing "Control" (without the quotes) and pressing Enter? If so, go to the User Control Panel applet and immediately create a new account.

If you can create the new account, use this link to transfer your stuff from the old profile to the new one: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=811151

I can't make a new account. When I press Enter, nothing happens.
Then after a while, a Windows Explorer error message comes up.

What's the make and model of the system?
Do you have a Windows Installation CD?

I'm not familiar with the VAIO recovery disks. Do you know if they can perform a repair of Windows (I think it can, but can't verify this on the Sony website)?

If so, read this first if you have Internet Explorer 7 installed: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=917964
Then try this procedure for a repair install: http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Be very careful doing this as the wrong step can erase the computer (also, backup your stuff before trying this).
