hi, I have Windows XP sp2 and wanted to know if someone can take a look at my Hijack This log file and see it i can delete any functions to fix my popups problem, or just help me with any resolution to my problem. I've already tried using four or five of the top adware and spyware removal programs but they did not solve anything.

just as extra information: I keep getting the same popup. its a rectangular window saying I have errors in my registry (duh) and to click here to download a file to fix it (which I will not be clicking), then every once in a while I get a different pop up. the bar on the top of the explorer window reads "http://z1.adserver.com - computer registry software advertisement"

thanks a bunch

Hi again removed.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize you had a HJT log. Yes, please post it in the
HJT logs and analysis forum. I apologize for the extra step.

Does the popup you see look like a windows message or a regular popup ad?

In trying to ascertain whether you are experiencing popups or popunders and whether you may have a trojan, please describe exactly what you are seeing.

did you:
close net messenger?
turn off UNSAFE activex settings?
turn off system restore BEFORE spyware sweeps?
turn system restore back ON after and creating a fresh restore point?
look over thre above for anything that might be useful?

try this
1) Open Internet Explorer Browser.
2) Click on Tools ---> Pop-up Blocker ---> Pop-up Blocker Settings.
3) In the Filter level Select 'High: Block all pop-ups (Ctrl to override)'
4) Click on 'Close' and and all pop-ups would be blocked.
