Don't do anything with your computer and use it as little as is possible - each use increases the likelyhood that the documents will be written over (even if you just turn it on, Windows performs operations in the background that can overwrite the space where the lost data is located).
Use another computer to download this free program to see what can be recovered (you don't have to buy it): http://www.runtime.org
Follow the instructions EXACTLY! Their programs are expensive to purchase - but the trial will lwt you know what's left on your drive.
I recommend this free software for data recovery, but it's not very user friendly: http://www.pcinspector.de/default.htm?Language=1
There are other programs that others will recommend, and there's more listed in our Freeware Replacements topic here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic3616.html
