Please temporily disable TeaTimer in Spybot S&D:

Click on Mode >> Advanced Mode
Then on the left panel
Tools >> Resident
Remove the check mark for Resident "TeaTimer"
Reboot the system and TeaTimer will no longer be resident.

I need you to do 2 other scans and post those results!!

Download Silent Runners:
http://www.silentrunners.org/Silent%20Runners.zip

Unzip it to a permanent folder.
Make sure to "Extract All Files"
Start SilentRunners.vbs
When your antivirus is giving an alert, do not block this. Allow the script.
Copy and paste the content of the txtfile you get afterwards in your next reply.

Run this Onlne Scan:
http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/acti...n_principal.htm

You will need to be using Internet Explorer for the Scan to work!!

Please Save the Report it Generates and Post both it and the Silent Runners Log!

OK,That Scan looks incomplete!

Did you get any errors when running it!

The Scan can take quite a bit of time to run, make sure its finished before Saving the log!

Please run the Scan again and be certain its done before saving the log!

Download rkfiles.zip and unzip it to its own permanent folder.

Important! Reboot in SAFE MODE !!

Start in Safe Mode Using the F8 method:

* Restart the computer in Safe Mode.
* As soon as the BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
* Use the arrow keys to select the Safe Mode menu item.
* Press the Enter key.

Locate the rkfiles.bat file and double-click it to run it. It will start scanning your computer and could take a little while so be patient. When the DOS window closes, reboot back to normal mode.

Post the contents of C:\log.txt back here and I will review it when it comes in.

Also post the entire contents of the silentrunners log!rkfiles.zip

This would appear to be leftovers from the Smitfraud Infection!

Have you experienced any problems with the Desktop or Display settings?

Luckily, some kind folks have designed a fix for it!

On with the Fix!

Please temporily disable TeaTimer in Spybot S&D as it may prevent part of this fix:

Open Spybot and click on Mode>> Advanced Mode
Then on the left panel
Tools >> Resident
Remove the check mark for Resident "TeaTimer"
Reboot the system and TeaTimer will no longer be resident.

Please right-click: HERE and go to Save As (in Internet Explorer it's "Save Target As") in order to download Grinler's reg file. Save it to your desktop.

Locate "smitfraud.reg" on your desktop and double-click it. When asked if you want to merge with the registry, click YES. Wait for the "merged successfully" prompt then follow the rest of the instructions below.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and remove the following programs, if found:

Security IGuard
Virtual Maid
Search Maid

Exit Add/Remove Programs.

*IMPORTANT*CLICK THIS LINK TO LEARN HOW TO VIEW HIDDEN FILES

I need you to copy all of the Killbox file paths below and paste them into Notepad.

* Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit. *In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.

* Save it to your desktop.

* Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.

* Select "Delete on Reboot".

* Open the Notepad file where you saved the file paths earlier and copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C

C:\wp.exe
C:\wp.bmp
C:\bsw.exe
C:\Windows\sites.ini
C:\Windows\popuper.exe
C:\Windows\System32\wldr.dll
C:\Windows\System32\helper.exe
C:\Windows\System32\intmon.exe
C:\Windows\System32\shnlog.exe
C:\Windows\System32\intmonp.exe
C:\Windows\System32\msmsgs.exe

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\SideStep.lnk
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Favorites\Links\SideStep.url
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Favorites\SideStep.url
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Start Menu\SideStep.lnk
C:\Downloads\WorldPokerChampionship-dm[1].exe
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\SbCIe02a.dll
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\SbCIe02a.inf

* Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".

* Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

While your computer is restarting, tap the F8 key continually until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, then hit enter.

Make sure you can view hidden files.

Using Windows Explorer, delete the following, if found, (please do NOT try to find them by "search" because they will not show up that way)

FOLDERS to delete (in bold) if found:

C:\Program Files\Search Maid
C:\Program Files\Virtual Maid
C:\Windows\System32\Log Files
C:\Program Files\Security IGuard

While still in Safe Mode, do the following:

Make sure all programs and windows are closed. Run HiJackThis and place a check next to the following items, if found, then click FIX CHECKED

Close HiJackThis.

Reboot into normal mode.

1.) Download The Hoster Press "Restore Original Hosts" and press "OK". Exit Program.

2.) Right-Click HERE and Save As to download DelDomains.inf to your desktop.
To use: RIGHT-CLICK DelDomains.inf on your desktop and select: Install (no need to restart)
Note: This will remove all entries in the "Trusted Zone" and "Ranges" also.

3.) Download, install, and run CleanUp!

Post a Fresh HijackThis log and a Fresh Silent Runners Log!

Yes...Please do disable System Restore!

Click Start>>Click Run>>Type in Regedit and Click OK!

Locate and open the HKEY_Current User Key then follow the rest of this path

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions

Once you make it to the Extensions Key(Folder) look in the larger right hand pane and locate this entry

{79D60D80-0259-4B54-90C7-D920419EEA46}

Right Click and Select Delete

Then you are done!

I am glad to hear the PC is running better...Lets get some added Seurity Installed

SpywareBlaster:
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
Update Immediatly!

IE Spyad:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...showtutorial=53
There is a direct download inside and great tutorial also!
