The local shop built a PC for me recently, it works fine but I see the clowns have named the documents folder "Mr. X's Documents' without my permission.
Call me a touch paranoid but I don't like having my surname attached to anything on my system, and i'll tell them so next time I'm in.
Is there any way I can rename it 'My Documents', or do I have to cart the machine back for them to do it?
It's Win XP Home.

Go to Start> Control Panel> System> Computer Name.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

Okay thanks guys i got rid of my name on the logon screen and start menu but it flatly refused to let me change it deeper in the innards of my system, i got the message "Cannot be changed or deleted".
I could dig for it but I won't bother, it seems as well hidden from prying eyes as a mummy in a pyramid and i can live with that..:)

To do this you'll have to create another account, then move all your stuff into it.
Then delete the first account, then delete the folders belonging to it on the hard drive.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
