I need help importing files unto a FrontPage web...

I run my church website and store everything on my PC, and I want to put two Adobe Acrobat files in a subpage of the website, but I want to load it and run it from a CD-R they're stored on instead of loading the 2 files onto my computer because the files are 9MB and 10MB.

Whenever I try to insert either of the files onto the web subpage, I get the message that it can not load the files.

Can anyone tell me how I can do what I want to do?

PDFs cannot be inserted into a page (frames might work though). If you want to upload them, go to View --> folders to view the directories on your site. Select the folder you want to upload the PDFs to in the folder list. Now go to to File --> Import --> Add File. Find the files on your cd drive and click open. Click ok to upload them.

(I tried this out on my site to make sure it would work.)

If I do that, will it load the program onto my computer? I'm trying to avoid loading such massive files onto my computer to save memory. Or will I be able to load and run the program from the CDROM?

I need help, please...

I am trying to insert a powerpoint file into FrontPage. When I try to import the file, I get the message: "Server error: Cannot create file "filename.""

The powerpoint file is saved as a presentation. I even tried saving it as a webpage, but it still won't work. I tried cutting and pasting the page onto a Word file, but the map in the page doesn't show-up correctly (it won't paste the road names diagonally to go with the road--it puts all words horizontally).

Can someone tell me how to fix this?

No. It loads it directly onto the server.

Brunt,

Thanks for the website! It helps, but I still have one question...

After I've created the powerpoint foler, typed my hyperlink title, and clicked on hyperlink, the website you gave me then says: "Find your PowerPoint through your folders and then click on Ok."

My question is this:

The powerpoint folder that I created has three files:

1. Brochure Back Page_files
2. Brochure Back Page.html
3. Brochure Back Page.ppt.

I can't click on the entire folder; I have to click on one of the files. Which of the files do I select?

I tried to import the PDF files off of my CD, but I got the following error message:

"An error occurred accessing your FrontPage web files. Authors - if authoring against a web server, please contact the webmaster for this server's site. WebMasters - please see the server's system log for more details."

What do I do now?

No luck on importing either file...

I have three folders in the web...one called "_private" (nothing's in there)...one called "Consignment Sale Back Page"...and one called "images"...and that's the one everything page and picture file is listed in...

And when I try to import from the disk, it gives me the same error message...what does that message mean?

I haven't heard anything in a couple of days...

Here's a repost of my last message:
