New Gateway GT5676 Quad-Core, Vista 64bit, 640GB (2X320) Ran Spyware S&D program set to restart on next boot to clear 1 non-virus item, I agreed. Now startup stops at login screen, pauses 1 sec and turns off. Then, the cycle is repeated over and over again, until a cold boot. I realize now that Spy S&D was installed on both C: and I: Drives (mistake). Could not start in Safe Mode or most recent Restore Point, but was able to start-run using ... "last known good config" option (F8) Removed all copies of Spy S&D, used Revo-Uninstaller. Checked removal in Vista add-remove, OK. Gateway runs fine, except  I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. CYCLES ON-OFF. NOW I DON'T TRUST turning this machine off again. No skills to mess with registry alone! Need a Fix or Troubleshooting advise, please. Stuck on remote Island with no Tech Support. BTW_Glad to be part this bad"B" group.

If there's a backup of the settings that SpyBot changed, you may be able to reverse them - but I haven't worked with this program in a year or 2, so I'm not going to be much help there.

Otherwise, you'll have to use your Vista DVD to run Startup Repair: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/repair-windows-with-windows-startup-repair/
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
