Hello I took my 250 gig Maxtor harddrive out of my old modded xbox because it died. I found out that it was locked so i used HDD unlock but it said it needed the unlock code. Any way other than getting it from the xbox which isnt possible or buying a code to unlock it? Any help would be appreciated its a 250 gig paperweight right now.

Don't have an xbox, but i did find this:

The password is encrypted in a chip on the motherboard. There are tools that can capture the password, but only if your system is working. Your HD password is unique and keyed to your motherboard. If you can't get your system working again with your motherboard and hard drive, chances are you are screwed.

20 bucks seems reasonable for a usable drive which most likely
contains files you want to access.
