Hey guys,

This is a bit frustrating. I was browsing the internet then all of a sudden a file downloads and im infected with this crap.
Here is the weird thing, all of the virus removal spyware removal programs I have used so far (Windows Defender, Ad-aware, ) and some others cannot update. Also.. on adware it will find lots of problems during the scan, however when the scan is done it says there is no problems... On windows defender it finds nothing.

I downloaded Malwarebytes program and it doesnt even launch... I double click the install and it opens a lot of the installs and freezes the install everytime. It seems like this damn virus is messing up the anti-spyware I can use.
I try to go to system restore and the only freaking date it saved for a restore point was the exact time I got infected, and there are NO other restore points.

Help me out! I'm trying out a full system scan on Windows Defender now and hopefully it will find the problems...

And a reply to this.. the windows defender FULL scan just ended and it doesnt provide any details on if it actually found something or not.. it just says it scanned and at what time.. how the HELL does that help me? It also gives me this error message with the update not being able to be downloaded: The program can't check for definition updates. It then gives me an error code.. is there anyway this virus remover is affecting the programs I'm using ? This has never happened before, usually Ad-aware will find everything and clean it up.

If mbam won't install
--------------------------------

Some types of malware will disable MBAM and other security tools. If MBAM will not install, try renaming it. Right-click on the mbam-setup.exe file and change the .exe extension to .bat, .com, .pif, or .scr and then double-click on it to run.

If after installation, MBAM will not run, open the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware folder in Program Files, right-click on mbam.exe and change the .exe as noted above. Then double-click on it to run.

It's not just that- it wouldnt allow any of the popular ones to update definition files, thus not enabling them to even run. This happened with ad-aware, windows defender, spy detector.

Good news though, I think i've removed the virus.. I ended using this anti-adware called STOPZilla.. I was suprised as this was the only one that updated modern definition files from their server.. it detected a lot of things and it even listed out Virus Protect 2008 as several of them, the bad news is it costs $40 but $10 after a mail in rebate.. the good news is that my computer is back and feels even faster.

You still should perform a scan with MBAM.
