Hi there Daxxa, welcome to BC!

http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/

MozBackup allows you to backup and restore all your bookmarks, mail, contacts, history, extensions, cache, etc. from any Mozilla program (including Firefox)

Just install it on both machines, run a backup on the old one, move the backup to the new one (on a flash drive or e-mail, for example) and run a restoration on the new computer.

Will this work if I change from one internet provider to another, without changing my computer? I hate the idea of having to copy all of the information by one method or another. I intend to keep firefox as my primary browser. Thank you for any help you might offer.

If you're using the same computer and the same browser, then changing your provider will have no effect on your bookmarks, browser settings, etc. Those are independent of your ISP and stored locally on your computer.

The Internet is the Internet no matter what ISP you use (except in Belarus, Burma, China, Cuba, Egypt, Iran, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam, or if you use AOL  ). Your browser is just a tool you use to access it and is independent of how you get there.

I, of course, mean no disrespect to Iranians. Tis their government (and my government too) that I am taking to task.

Iran has a deplorable record on freedom of speech, press, and information. Most recently, for example:

Closure of Nobel laureate's human rights organisation condemned
Authorities urged to quash 30-month prison sentence imposed on blogger
Imprisoned journalist denied hospital treatment suffers second heart attack

Viva la revolución!

For IE, you might try Bookmark Wizard. I've not tried it, so can't vouch for it, but it seems to be what you'd want.

Thanks but I'm switching to Firefox now but when I did use IE, I just copied the Favorites star icon from the user's documents and settings folder.

When you switch from IE to Firefox, Firefox gives you the option to import your IE bookmarks and stuff into Firefox.

Really? Hmm, I don't remember seeing that option before. We'll see when I try uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox.
