K, so I like to fully write out the model, anyway, in the c500 series is it possible to completely replace the intel Graphics card for a new one? I'm just wondering. Because recently I saw it ran at 400 mhz, not bad but it can't run the windows energy screen saver without tearing and being moderately slow.

We're talking about a laptop, correct? That' a built in video chip, soldered to the motherboard.
It's more than likely possible that you can go into the BIOs and allocate more system memory to the video processor

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

yes, the compaq presario c500 series is a laptop.
So you are saying it is soldered on eh? That's cool man. And about the bios thing, you can't do ANYTHING in the bios. just set the time and date and a hdd self check. Thanks!
