graphics upgrade

i have a a8ae-le motherboard and installing a 450w power supply because i talked to a guy a hp and he said that is the maw psu i shoild use that was tested and anything higher might damage my pc.my question is can i put a nvidia pci-e card in my pc.

You should be able to use any pciex16 graphics card, as long as it will fit in your case. According to the manual to that motherboard though, the slot runs at 1x speed which is really going to extremely bottleneck a graphics card.
