Why is combofix no longer available? I've read all the warnings, I fully understand the implications. I'm an IT administrator with 15 years of experience. I've have grown to recognize the problems that I know combofix will repair. I have 600 workstations, and over the last 6 months combofix has saved me countless time. I have a laptop right now that I know combofix will repair. I have a november version of combofix, but I always want to make sure I have the latest version. In my line of work, I just can't afford the downtime associated with doing a hijackthis log and waiting for analysis. I've grown to recognize the malware that pops up while combofix is running and tries to convince you that combofix has a problem, the fake blue screens, etc. I understand, and appreciate, that the makers/managers of this tool don't want it to fall into the wrong hands. What can I do to verify/prove myself so that I can get the latest version?

Combofix is available for those getting assistance by experts in the HijackThis Logs and Malware Removal forum.

Why for only those members?

It is a powerful tool intended by its creator to be "used under the guidance and supervision of an expert", NOT for private use. As such, no one should be using Combofix unless instructed to do so by a Malware Removal Expert who can interpret the logs. Please read Combofix's Disclaimer.

That's the decision by the creator and we will abide by that decision.
