Hi,

Could anyone recommend a good free program for making slideshows (with sound) please?

Thank you.

It would help if you give a clue as to what operating system you are using.

I assume that you are running Windows ???? If so try Photo Story 3

Thank you very much Bernie K. This one looks good.

Apologies re system. It is Windows XP - and Vista on seperate laptop. I will check Photo Story out and if you can think of any other alternatives to compare I'd be very grateful.

Thanks again.

I like online service SlideRocket. Lots of options, and there is free account. Try, maybe you'll like it.
BTW, can't you make it more clear - what slideshow do you need - flash (swf), exe, cd/dvd or what?

Photostory is what we use. It is easy, you can edit and control transistions quickly and adding music is a breeze.

Thank you eLenka and Rigel for your advice.

Re what I need. To be honest I'm not too sure as this is new to me and I'm not too clear about the types of files required, but mainly what I want for now is to make slideshows of family pics etc to put on discs for sharing, so Photo Story seems a good one to start with. I've just given it a short tryout earlier and it seems fine.
SlideRocket looks great so may look into it later when I'm a bit more 'educated' and ready to try something a little more sophisticated.

Thanks a million for this link. I've downloaded the program and tried it out and like it.
These are all very nice and useful programs, but it's just been suggested to me that I need something that can be opened and viewed in a browser. Is there anything else you might suggest?
I should have thought of this earlier but learning as I go along.
