safe mode. I started in safe mode to revove part of a nasty adware (Nail.exe/DrPMon.dll). Restarted, and the only options I have are start in safe mode or system restore. I don't really want to restore, so is there a way to just return to normal widows? I'm running XP home SP2 V.2002.

Thanks in advance.

At what point are you seeing those options? Your not booting from the CDROM by accident are you? If not, what options do you get if you hold down the Ctrl key when you boot?

To start in safe mode I went to Start>Run>msconfig>then chose safe mode. Once in safe mode I deleted some spyware and then restarted. On restart, I get the message with the options to either start in safe mode or do a system restore. I have since done a restore and computer is starting fine now. Still have the Nail.exe/Aurora/DrPMon.dll which seems to be multiplying spyware on my PC. Will post in appropriate thread for help on this issue.

Thank you,
Tom

OK, when you were finished with Safe Mode you needed to go back into msconfig and select 'Normal Startup' to boot normally again. The system restore would have done that for you (amongst other things).
Glad you sorted that bit out, good luck with the spyware!
