I receive the invalid boot.ini upon startup so I pop in windows xp pro cd and attempt to repair install but when I do repair is not an option only install. It also lists my HD as having 152GB of freespace when it is only a 160GB HD. I need to find out what I need to do in order to scan the HD for a virus and then what I can attempt to do to recover several files that were not backed up.
