I found this site when in a state of desperation! A piece of malware - trojan Fake Alert had slipped in when McAfee had his back turned ( or when my teenage son opened the door to it
) I had tried everything, including "chat" with a McAfee techie, to no avail. He was probably really intelligent and probably knew heaps about it, but English wasn't his first language and he was struggling a bit with it, which was frustrating for me and probably for him as well.
Luckily, Yahoo search engine led me to this
wonderful site and here I am, with all my problems solved. Well, the computer ones, anyway! Wouldn't be nice if all the others were as easily fixed?
I think this will be such a useful place for me - I'm a schoolteacher who is in charge of computer troubleshooting in my stage. In Monty Python terms, it's really a case of the blind leading the deaf, dumb and mad.
I'm marginally less hopeless than the others, so I was given the extra role.
Sincere thanks to those of you who really know what you are doing, from those of us who stumble around in the dark a bit, which is lit only by the wisdom of others like you, who are kind enough to share it freely.
