Similar problems to report as Cheryl F and Sugarcane 64, will not let me access any of the anti virus/malware site I cant even access this site on the PC with the issue, it always re directs me. I can load some malware programs but it will not let me run them.

I was able to load Malwarebytes yesterday but did not rename it, it will not let me open or do a quick scan, I tried to remove malwarebytes this evening so I could rename it with a name.exe but it just hangs up on the screen that show the progress of the removal process, I have to reboot every time.

I did rename malwarebytes that was loaded up but it appears that will not work.

I was hoping to just remove malwarebytes and re install with the name.exe process I read about in Cheryl Gs post to see if I could remove it.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

MD

Hello,I think I 've seen you before  welcome again. Have you tried any of these, running or renaming, from safe mode?

How to enter safe mode(XP)
Using the F8 Method
Restart your computer.
When the machine first starts again it will generally list some equipment that is installed in your machine, amount of memory, hard drives installed etc. At this point you should gently tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a Windows XP Advanced Options menu.
Select the option for Safe Mode using the arrow keys.
Then press enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode.

Hi boopme,

Yes I did go into safe mode and no luck in being able to remove malware and reload it with the .exe name, seems to have me locked down no mattter what I do or choose.

I am wondering if there is something else that I cant try?
