AVG file going being deleted

Using Vista ultimate 32 and AVG 8 free.About half of AVG files in the install folder seem to get deleted/removed from my computer(files arent being relocated as far as I know), I'm using with full updates.

It seems to happen when Im not active or in a game on my PC and the files just go missing, I was told to post here recently from http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/177311/avguiexe-missing/

I dont know how one would go to replicate this, I have done a recent ram upgrade to 4gb (3.336 reconized) but it was happening before this. I've done repair installs and full fresh installs, im jsut a few hairs from a reformat and starting over again.

Hello, well lets do some scans and see aome logs then. For Vista "Run%20As%20Administrator%5b/url%5d%20is%20required.

  • Make%20sure%20you%20are%20connected%20to%20the%20Internet.
  • Double-click%20on%20mbam-setup.exe%20to%20install%20the%20application.
  • When%20the%20installation%20begins,%20follow%20the%20prompts%20and%20do%20not%20make%20any%20changes%20to%20default%20settings.
  • When%20installation%20has%20finished,%20make%20sure%20you%20leave%20both%20of%20these%20checked:
    • Update%20Malwarebytes'%20Anti-Malware
    • Launch%20Malwarebytes'%20Anti-Malware
  • Then%20click%20Finish.
  • If%20an%20update%20is%20found,%20the%20program%20will%20automatically%20update%20itself.
  • Press%20the%20OK%20button%20to%20close%20that%20box%20and%20continue.

  • Click%20OK%20to%20close%20the%20message%20box%20and%20continue%20with%20the%20removal%20process.
  • Click%20on%20the%20Show%20Results%20button%20to%20see%20a%20list%20of%20any%20malware%20that%20was%20found.
  • Make%20sure%20that%20%5bcolor=green%5deverything%20is%20checked%5b/color%5d,%20and%20click%20Remove%20Selected.
  • When%20removal%20is%20completed,%20a%20log%20report%20will%20open%20in%20Notepad.
  • The%20log%20is%20automatically%20saved%20and%20can%20be%20viewed%20by%20clicking%20the%20Logs%20tab%20in%20MBAM.
  • %5bcolor="#FF0000" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply [/color]and exit MBAM.
Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you may be asked to reboot your computer so it can proceed with the disinfection process. Regardless if prompted to restart the computer or not, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware. MBAM may "make changes to your registry" as part of its disinfection routine. If using other security programs that detect registry changes (ie Spybot's Teatimer), they may interfere or alert you after scanning with MBAM. Please temporarily disable such programs or permit them to allow the changes.

Please download
ATF Cleaner by Atribune & save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
  • Under Main "Select Files to Delete" choose: Select All.
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
  • If you use Firefox browser click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
    If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
  • If you use Opera browser click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
    If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
  • Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
Note: On Vista, "Windows Temp" is disabled. To empty "Windows Temp" ATF-Cleaner must be "Run as an Administrator".

Then SAS
Please download and scan with SUPERAntiSpyware Free
  • Double-click SUPERAntiSypware.exe and use the default settings for installation.
  • An icon will be created on your desktop. Double-click that icon to launch the program.
  • If asked to update the program definitions, click "Yes". If not, update the definitions before scanning by selecting "Check for Updates". (If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here. Double-click on the hyperlink for Download Installer and save SASDEFINITIONS.EXE to your desktop. Then double-click on SASDEFINITIONS.EXE to install the definitions.)
  • In the Main Menu, click the Preferences... button.
  • Click the "General and Startup" tab, and under Start-up Options, make sure "Start SUPERAntiSpyware when Windows starts" box is unchecked.
  • Click the "Scanning Control" tab, and under Scanner Options, make sure the following are checked (leave all others unchecked):
    • Close browsers before scanning.
    • Scan for tracking cookies.
    • Terminate memory threats before quarantining.
  • Click the "Close" button to leave the control center screen and exit the program.
  • Do not run a scan just yet.
Reboot your computer in "[url="http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsafe.htm"]Safe Mode" using the F8 method. To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly. A menu will appear with several options. Use the arrow keys to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode".

Scan with SUPERAntiSpyware as follows:
  • Launch the program and back on the main screen, under "Scan for Harmful Software" click Scan your computer.
  • On the left, make sure you check C:\Fixed Drive.
  • On the right, under "Complete Scan", choose Perform Complete Scan and click "Next".
  • After the scan is complete, a Scan Summary box will appear with potentially harmful items that were detected. Click "OK".
  • Make sure everything has a checkmark next to it and click "Next".
  • A notification will appear that "Quarantine and Removal is Complete". Click "OK" and then click the "Finish" button to return to the main menu.
  • If asked if you want to reboot, click "Yes" and reboot normally.
  • To retrieve the removal information after reboot, launch SUPERAntispyware again.
    • Click Preferences, then click the Statistics/Logs tab.
    • Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
    • If there are several logs, click the current dated log and press View log. A text file will open in your default text editor.
    • Please copy and paste the Scan Log results in your next reply.
  • Click Close to exit the program.
