I am about to go crazy trying to eliminate the newer "windows search" that replaces the older version that I would much rather use. Is there an easy way to eliminate the new one? Please help, thank you, gvan

Hi, does it appear in add/remove programs? If not have a look at the link http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost....81&SiteID=1

I don't like that either.

Go to start > Control Panel >double-click Add/Remove Programs.
Highlight Windows Search 4.0 (older version is 3.0) and click Remove.
If needed reboot.
You get the original Windows Search back.
