i had followed the steps which taught by Symantec after affecting this virus, W32.Gabot.Baj:-
1. To disable System Restore (Windows Me/XP)
2. To delete the added lines from the Windows Hosts file
Follow the instructions for your operating system:
Click Start, point to Find or Search, and then click Files or Folders.
Make sure that "Look in" is set to (C:) and that "Include subfolders" is checked.
In the "Named" or "Search for..." box, type:
Click Find Now or Search Now.
For each Hosts file that you find, right-click the file, and then click "Open With."
Deselect the "Always use this program to open this program" check box.
Scroll through the list of programs and double-click Notepad.
When the file opens, delete the the following entries in the Hosts file:
Close Notepad and save your changes when prompted.
but inside the hosts file, no such address.
this is the hosts file in my Computer..
# Copyright © 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
# For example:
# 184.108.40.206 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 220.127.116.11 x.acme.com # x client host
so i don't know how to continue with the following steps....
thanks for any solution provided....
