Hi Deadly Elegance,

This might be a settings problem. Did you try calling HP? If you haven't tried that first, their support numbers can be found here:

http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/contac...t.html#section1

The telephone number is at the top for the U.S. and on the left side of the page, there's a button to contact them worldwide.

I have the same problem with my HP printer. Sometimes it prints immeciately, other times only after a reboot.
When I called HP support about it they were not helpful at all. That was about 2 years ago, so maybe they know more now than they did then. If you get an answer from them, please post here letting me know what they said.

This seems to be due to a sleepmode problem. In your case, you may want to turn off the sleep mode. Please see the following solution:

Does this help?

Try this.

Go to Start / Control Panel and click on Printers and Other Hardware and then click on Printers and Faxes. Right-click on the printer and select Properties. Select the Ports tab and see if the Bidirectional Support is enabled. If so, uncheck it and click on ok.

See if this changes the problem.
