worm/virus via a pen drive

HELLO TO ONE AND ALL
MY PROBLEM IS MY PEN DRIVE PICKED UP A SAL.XLS.EXE VIA ANOTHER COMPUTER,I FORMATTED THE PEN DRIVE AND IT SEEMS TO HAVE GONE FROM THE AUTOPLAY,WHEN I RAN A AVG+,MALWAREBYTES SCAN IT PICKED UP A WORM/SMALL IN THE COMPUTER.MY LAPTOP IS A DELL INSPIRON 6400,32 BIT VISTA. HOW CAN I BE SURE ON WETHER THIS PROBLEM IS RESOLVED.
