My mom has a laptop and she uses it to watch movies. and recently she got a hdmi cable and it worked fine for about 2 weeks and suddenly it doens't work like you can't see anything on my plasma tv

Have you tried jiggling the cable, it might of came loose.

Have you altered any settings on the TV and or the laptop? Make and model of the TV and laptop would be helpful.
If all else fails, hit the reset button.
