I am new to this particular site, and I found you purely because I typed in Google: Bolivar help. So here I am. I noticed you helped another member and hope you can help me too.
My friend sent me a video through Facebook. I tried to open it but it kept asking me to install the updated version of Flash. Well, I need to say no more I think, as this is how the virus gets in. I told my friend I couldn't open the video and he said don't as it is a virus. Too late that advice came.
I didn't notice at first as I didn't use my pc as much, but yesterday my PC was VERY slow. So I ran McAfee and it found the Bolivar only it would only quarantine the annoying thing. So I turned off the System Restore and went into Safe Mode and ran McAfee again. I also found a "bolivar28" file in Prefetch which is under C: Windows and I deleted that file. After I ran McAfee, I also ran AVG. Nothing was found now, however I have noticed that McAfee has not deleted it and has merely blocked it. I really would like to get rid of it. I am trying to find the file but even if I type C\Windows:Bolivar28.exe it will not find the file. But I have a feeling it is still there, else otherwise McAfee would say it deleted it.
I am currently running McAfee now again, I have turned System Restore on and I am back in normal mode. Any help would be much appreciated. I have a DELL Dimension 9150 and I am running Windows XP.
It is still there. The koobface virus is hiding in the registry keys. Can I delete those infected registry keys??????????
