Several weeks ago, I tried connecting to PeoplePC(an internet) and all of a sudden, I wasn't able to go on anymore. A message had appeared that read something like: "You can't connect because your modem isn't working." How do I get my modem to work? Need help! Thanks in advance.

What operating system are you using? If you go to Control Panel, what does it say in Device Manager about your modem? Is there a yellow mark on it?

Most ISP's will help you with your modem problems if you phone them.
