Please help, I'm getting desperate. I have a computer running Vista, and I seem to have been infected by the Sinowal trojan. Everytime I try to use anything that deals with the Internet, that program crashes. I've tried using IE and FF, and both 95% of the time crash as soon as I try to go to a webpage. Windows Defender keeps telling me I have this Trojan.

The computer is running McAfee, which doesn't seem to even find the trojan. Nor does Spybot, or Malware Antibytes. The only thing that recognizes the trojan is SuperAntiSpyware. It says it removes it, but it doesn't. I'm still stuck.

When I try to open Internet explorer I get this:

Also:
------------
I keep getting this message when i go to my home page on the internet

I also keep getting this message on my desktop Security Center Alert from my Windows Firewall. It says do you want to blcok this suspicious software? Name: Sinowal.Trojan
Risk Level: High

Please help! I need this fixed as soon as possible, so any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello ,

My name is Mas_pogi(mark,mp) and I will be helping you with your Malware problem.
As I am still in training I will be helping you under supervision of our expert teachers, so there may be a delay between posts.

Thanks for your patient and we'll get back to you

Please do not run any other tool untill instructed to do so!
Please reply to this thread, do not start another!
Please tell me about any problems that have occurred during the fix.
Please tell me of any other symptoms you may be having as these can help also.
Please try as much as possible not to run anything while executing a fix.

Question:
  • Did you changed anything since previous post? How is the current condition of your computer?
  • Is this only computer you have or theirs another computer we can eventually use.
  • Do you have a Windows Vista installation DVD? Not that we need it now, just in case.
You might want to save this page on your bookmark, so you can find it again when you return.

Firefox: Posted Image Then click on Done.

IExplorer: Posted Image Then click on Add.

Stay calm and everything will be just alright.

Could you also post C:\RSIT\info.txt?

With Regards,
mas_pogi

hi.

Welcome to BC.

Please do the following;
  • Copy and paste the following text into Notepad:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
    "EnableLUA"=dword:00000001

Save this as "fixme.reg" . Choose to save as *all files and place it on your Desktop.
    Double-click fixme.reg

  • Please download gmer.zip from Gmer and save it to your desktop.

    • Right click on gmer.zip and select Extract All....
    • Click on the Browse button. Click on Desktop.
    • Check (tick) the Show extracted files box.
    • Click Extract. It will start extracting.
Right click on gmer.exe and select Run as administrator to run it. It will start running a scan.
If it detects rootkit activity, you will receive a prompt to run a full scan. Click Yes.

    • When done, you may receive another notice. Click OK.
    • Click on Save ... to save a log.
    • Copy and paste in Gmer.txt and click Save.
    • Close Gmer.
If you receive no notice, click on the Scan button.

    • It will start scanning again.
    • When done, click on Save ... to save a log.
    • Copy and paste in Gmer.txt and click Save.
    • Close Gmer.
Note: Do not run any programs while Gmer is running.

  • Please do a scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner

Note: If you are using Windows Vista, open your browser by right-clicking on its icon and select 'Run as administrator' to perform this scan.

Click on the Accept button and install any components it needs.
    • The program will install and then begin downloading the latest definition files.
    • After the files have been downloaded on the left side of the page in the Scan section select My Computer
    • This will start the program and scan your system.
    • The scan will take a while, so be patient and let it run.
    • Once the scan is complete, click on View scan report
    • Now, click on the Save Report as button.
    • Save the file to your desktop.
    • Copy and paste that information in your next post.
In your reply, please post

GMER result
Kaspersky scan result
