Hey, I'm new here, and I've never posted asking for computer-related advice before, so forgive me if I do or say something wrong.

As of this week, my computer has been behaving oddly. About three or four times now, it's crashed with a Blue Screen Of Death - once while attempting to start up the computer, once while running a scan, and once when I tried to pull up the start menu shortly after startup. It also seems to freeze up and/or fail most of the time when trying to run Windows Update.

In addition, I occasionally find myself inundated with messages stating that various Windows Host Processes have stopped working. I've run virus and error scans, both of which come up empty. I've also tried a system restore, and a complete system reset (a la Restore Factory Settings)... neither of these things have solved the problem.

Any suggestions?

I'd start with checking for malware with a couple of these free online scans: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/blogs/usas...?showentry=1252

If you come up clean, post back here and we'll have a go at fixing it here.
If it comes back with an infection (or if the scans won't run), I'd suggest posting in the Am I Infected forum located here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/103/am-i-infected-what-do-i-do/
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
