I am a totally new to Linux. Yesterday I installed Mandriva 2005LE and set all the devices except the modem - Intel 'hardware' Ambient 536. It is detected as 'Intel 536' but within the hardware config it is put in the 'other detected devices' (written with red letters). I'm not allowed to choose the driver manualy (whereas I can choose among a dozen drivers for the on-board sound card and it works fine with a few of them, not just with one which is assigned automatically during installation).
Now what?

My specs: P4 Prescott 3G, mobo Asus P4P800, 2x256 MB dual channel mem,
WD 40 GB /Mandriva/ + Samsung SATA 160 GB /XP sp2/ etc.
