Ubuntu Wireless

I am looking for information on the availabilty of a card/adapter that will work with Ubuntu 8 and connect to a Belkin wireless router. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Would this be for a desktop or laptop?
All my desktop machines are hard wired to the router,
but on my previous laptop I first went with a Linksys card
and had too many fits with ndiswrapper and the correct
drivers so I went and got a Buffalo WLI2-CB-G54L and it
was detected and worked straight away.
Here is a list of supported cards:

Current systems: WHAT OS, BackTrack-raw, PCLinuxOS, Peppermint OS 6, Kali Linux

and a custom Linux From Scratch server hosting a bunch of top secret stuff.
