Start menu/ All Programs/Accessories.

System Tools, and then click Activate Windows.

Follow the steps in the activation wizard. When it doesn't work, you'll be given a phone number based on your location.

What happened that it didn't work?
Did you input the correct region where you are located?
Strange indeed if you followed the wizard and the phone number you were given didn't work.

I don't know if this will help, but you could try going to start, click run, and type oobe/msoobe /a
to get the activate Windows screen and try it.

Try 1-888-571-2048 unless that's the number you've been calling already.
This was the USA number only. I just used it in June 2008.
The only easy day was yesterday.

No that is it! Dang I was wrong and had the two in the wrong place. But for sure that is the number that I just used successfully today.

Strange that a 1-888 number would end up with a "random guy", lol

I call the US activation number from the Activation screen about once a week and have never gotten some random guy.
I'd suggest trying again - and if you still have issues, try contacting the phone company.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
