Check in the Device Manager and see if there are any error with the Universal Serial Port Controllers.

Start> right click on My Computer> Manage> Device Manager.

Do see any options below the icon for the monitor in the right side pane? If the box to the left of the icon has a + inside click on it to expand the tree. The USB Controllers should be close to the bottom of the list.

Take a screen shot, post it in a host like Photobucket, and then post it here from the host.

Your link didn't work...the same thing happens to me when I try to use the forum Quick Access . You may want to just post the entire URL by editing your post.

You sure that you have USB ports on that system?

I need better model data than that series of numbers you provided to do any research on this system.

You can try Start/Run...type msinfo32...hit Enter.

A system summary screen will appear in the window. Post data reflected for System Manufacturer and System Model.

Alternative: Download/install/run. Under Hardware/Motherboard should be some info that will give us a clue.

You might also see if USB is listed under Hardware/Devices.

Thanks...but that just clutters up the post.

I only asked for two lines of entry, the rest of that is useless. You can go in and edit and remove it (which is what I suggest)...most readers just skip over items like what you posted.

What happened to the suggestion re the SIW tool?

Louis
