Hi.

I am slightly new to computers.

i use intel pentium D 2.8 GHz. 820.
motherboard is intel D865GSA
Ram is DDR 512 MB.
windows xp sp2 build 2600.

my questions are
1)what is the maximum RAM i can use for this combination?(because i want to get faster)
2)Can my motherboard incorporate more than 2 RAM sticks?
3)How can we just look at the ram and decide whether it is DDR or DDR2 or SDRAM?(is it possible in first place)

Please do not ask me to go through any websites. i am tired of it. I HOPE BLEEPINGCOMPUTER can be my one stop for clarifying my computer doubts.

Hope you understand this.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi abcd1

Answers to your questions

1) Max RAM is 2GB.
2) The motherboard only has two RAM slots.
Follow this link for further details http://support.intel.com/products/motherbo...65gsa/index.htm
3) SDRAM has 168 pins, DDR has 184 pins and DDR2 has 240 pins.
