This is the Spy.iSpyNow malware!

I need some help here.

I was unable to get a Kaspersky report because the computer in question redirects all web requests that have anything to do with computers. All virus and malware/spyware scans are coming up clean. Trend Micro mbat crashes after a run, it brings the firewall service up and down. I have faults with wmiadapter. I removed viewpoint, but it's still reporting in RSIT.

Also, it pops up bogus security center alerts for Spyware.iSpyNow.

Here's my RSIT log:

So I found the offenders and deleted them with security task manager...some odd Google thing and a file named runhhxxxxxx. But things are still broken. I cannot install mbam, or SDFix. I just need some help here.

I see that this is associated with winlogon poisoning. I note that I have 3 copies of winlogon. One of which was created today, and that is obviously the culprit.

Any help you can give me in getting this resolved would be great. I think if I can get the tools working, I might be able to take care of this without too much guidance (based on the other iSpy infections), and I can't look forward to your help.

It looks like everyone is busy, so I've gone off on my own. I would like some feedback, however on my proposed steps towards recovery:

- rename virus tools so that they actually install/work (mbam, sdfix, smitfraudfix are the 3 that I believe will help the most)
- run combofix
- replace winlogon if necessary (and I do believe it is necessary)

MBAM, SDFix, and smitfraudfix seem to have taken care of the problem. It was the TDsserv rootkit. It took a couple of reboots and subsequent cleanings by SDFix, but I think I have it all taken care of.

Thank you all for your expertise-even though you didn't get to my computer, it was your work on other peoples' computers that provided me with the answers necessary.

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine. If you have not done so, include a description of your problem, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below a staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results, click no to the Optional_Scan
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet. Information on A/V control HERE

R,
K
