Hi guys.
By the way, I'd like to say I'm a greenhorn so do guide me along the way
Here's the 1st..
Okay, basically I was surfing using firefox, listenin to songs when all of a sudden, the pc rebooted (i had unclicked the "AUTOMATICALLY REBOOT" at STARTUP & RECOVERY.
It was a blue screen so auto reboot.
I made a check at the event viewer for any dump file and there was one called "Mini113008-01.dmp".
Analyzed it using debugwiz and below are the results from the analysis.

Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP_M (1000007f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
use .trap on that value
Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.
Arguments:
Arg1: 00000008, EXCEPTION_DOUBLE_FAULT
Arg2: 80042000
Arg3: 00000000
Arg4: 00000000

Worthy of reading: http://www.windowsbbs.com/windows-xp/36179...ts-bsods-2.html

My guess would be that it's hardware.

I would start by eliminating suspects like the power supply, the RAM, the hard drive.

I'm not a big fan of dbgwiz. Could you rerun the analysis using this tutorial: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/176011/how-to-receive-help-diagnosing-blue-screens-and-windows-crashes/

The most common cause of these errors is a memory failure, so running the free MemTest86 (available here: http://www.memtest86.com/ ) would likely be the first step.

The crash occurred in a Windows system file when it was used by Firefox. Are you using a beta version of Firefox? I'd suggest saving your bookmarks, then completely uninstall Firefox. See Removing User Data and Settings at the bottom of this page: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Uninstalling+Firefox
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

- John  (my website: http://www.carrona.org/ )**If you need a more detailed explanation, please ask for it. I have the Knack. **  If I haven't replied in 48 hours, please send me a message. My eye problems have recently increased and I'm having difficult reading posts. (23 Nov 2017)FYI - I am completely blind in the right eye and ~30% blind in the left eye.<p>If the eye problems get worse suddenly, I may not be able to respond. If that's the case and help is needed, please PM a staff member for assistance.
