I've read a pretty good amount of posts relating to slow speeds ,and registry cleaners/fixes.

my problem is i lost my backup disc after i installed sp3, and since then i have d/l'd various applications such as tuneup utilities,i used it for a while, wasn't impressed, then uninstalled it , and somehow my system restore was deleted.
then i noticed in safe mode it shows 2 o/s's xp pro sp3 and xp pro sp3 (tuneup backup)

i believe i may have a considerable amount of registry problems

i use my computer mostly for video "stuff" ,and i miss my speed that i previously had. I'd like to fix it w/o taking drastic measures and reformatting, which would be my last resort........ given a period of ,,, a week !

anyone here up for this challenge

cajun1,

I see you have an open HJT log posted in the HijackThis Logs and Malware Removal forum.
You shouldn't make any changes to your system, while your HJT log is posted, as that could change the results of the posted log, making it difficult to properly clean your system.

At this point, the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

I'm closing this topic until you are cleared by the HJT Team.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to send me a PM.
