One day I was looking at the connections in Comodo Firewall. I noticed that svchost was connecting to a IP on the Internet. I looked up the IP and the results say that the IP belongs to Microsoft. Is this behavior normal?

It sounds like it may be an updater or something similar.

You can check what Microsoft services are running on your computer by going to Start > right click on My Computer > Manage > Services

You can see what services auto start on your computer by going to: Start > Run > type "msconfig" (without the quotes) > Services tab

Also, if you want to see what process is connecting to MS, follow this advice: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/list-services-running-under-svchost.exe-process/

Currently home chillin' with the fam and my two dogs!
