Having had problems with IE7 last couple of days, I uninstalled and went back to IE6........unfortunately it hasn't cured the problem.
When searching via google, selected search re-directs to wrong pages totally nothing to do with search.
I thought I'd try re-installing IE7 via download through microsoft but can't download.....says I'm not connected to internet.
I have a BT home hub and have spoken to them today. They ran an online assist and said all was ok, but I can't download their help files either cos screen keeps coming up with 'must be connected to internet'.
I have norton anti virus and on line protection...........full scan shows no problems.
Running XP Pro with service pack 3

If you're being redirected, I'd say you have a browser hijacker and are infected. I would post here
