I keep getting this message when i go to my home page on the internet
Insecure Internet activity. Threat of virus attack
Due to insecure Internet browsing your PC can easily get infected with viruses, worms and trojans without your knowledge, and that can lead to system slowdown, freezes and crashes.
Also insecure Internet activity can result in revealing your personal information.
To get full advanced real-time protection for PC and Internet activity, register your antivirus software.
We recommend you to protect your PC now and continue safe Internet browsing.
Click here to get full advanced real-time protection and continue browsing. Click here to get full advanced real-time protection and continue browsing.
Continue to this website unprotected (not recommended).

I also keep getting this message on my desktop Security Center Alert from my Windows Firewall. It says do you want to blcok this suspicious software? Name: Spyware.ISpynow
Risk Level: High
Decsription: ISpynow is a spyware program that records keystrokes and takes screen shots of the computer, stealing personal finanical information. But the keep blocing and unblock are grayed out and i cannot select them my only option is to choose enable protection which then takes me to this website http://www.defender-review.com/?a=112 to buy something which is the same website as when i go to do an internet search and the above message appears. And then below this it says windows firewall has detected unathorized activity, but unfortunatly it cannot help you to remove viruses, keyloggers and other spywares that steal your personal information from your computer click to download and activate protecton.

Hello esuz  Welcome to the BC HijackThis Log and Analysis forum. I apologize for the delay however we are all volunteers and it gets very busy around here. I will be assisting you from here on out.

Please refrain from running tools other than those we suggest to you while we are cleaning up your computer. The reason for this is so we know what is going on with the machine at any time. Some programs can interfere with others and hamper the recovery process.

In the upper right hand corner of the topic you will see a button called Options. If you click on this in the drop-down menu you can choose Track this topic. By doing this and then choosing Immediate E-Mail notification and then clicking on Proceed you will be advised when we respond the your topic and facilitate the cleaning of your machine.

After 5 days if a topic is not replied to we assume it has been abandoned and it is closed.

You still have signs of infection on your machine plus some other things that need attending to. I would suggest doing the Kaspersky scan I asked for earlier and let's go from there.
If I have helped you then please consider donating so I can continue the fight against malware Posted Image

Your log(s) show that you are using so called peer-to-peer or file-sharing programs (in your case BitTorrent and Ares ). These programs allow to share files between users as the name(s) suggest. In today's world the cyber crime has come to an enormous dimension and any means is used to infect personal computers to make use of their stored data or machine power for further propagation of the Malware files. A popular means is the use of file-sharing tools as a tremendous amount of prospective victims can be reached through it.

It is therefore possible to be infected by downloading manipulated files via peer-to-peer tools and thus suggested to be used with intense care. Some further readings on this subject, along the included links, are as follows: "File-Sharing, otherwise known as Peer To Peer" and "Risks of File-Sharing Technology.

Please disable SPYBOT TEATIMER
  • Launch Spybot S&D, go to the Mode menu and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected.
  • On the left hand side, click on Tools, then click on the Resident Icon in the list.
  • Uncheck the "Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of overall system settings) active." box.
  • Click on the "System Startup" icon in the List
  • Uncheck the "TeaTimer" box and "OK" any prompts.
  • If Teatimer gives you a warning that changes were made, click the "Allow Change" box when prompted.
  • Exit Spybot S&D when done.
  • (When we are done, you can re-enable Teatimer using the same steps but this time place a check next to "Resident TeaTimer" and check the "TeaTimer" box in System Startup.]

Please disable Ad-Aware
  • Right click on the Ad-Watch icon in the system tray.
  • At the bottom of the screen there will be two checkable items called "Active" and "Automatic".
o Active: This will turn Ad-Watch On\Off without closing it.
o Automatic: Suspicious activity will be blocked automatically.
  • Uncheck both of those boxes.
  • (When done, you can re-enable it using the same steps but this time check both boxes.)

Download and Run ComboFix (by sUBs)
Please visit this webpage for instructions for downloading and running ComboFix:

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune & save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
  • Under Main "Select Files to Delete" choose: Select All.
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
  • If you use Firefox browser click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
  • If you use Opera browser click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
  • Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
Note: On Vista, "Windows Temp" is disabled. To empty "Windows Temp" ATF-Cleaner must be "Run as an Administrator".

Along with the log from ComboFix please provide a new HJT log also. I would also like for you to post the log that was produced when you ran MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. You can access the log by launching the program and selecting Logs tab. The log that we need which is the latest would the one on the bottom.

We need for you to upload a file so it can be checked.

Go to http://virusscan.jotti.org
Copy the following line into the white textbox:
c:\windows\system32\winlogon.exe
Click Submit.
Please post the results of this scan to this thread.

Alternate site if Jottis' doesn't work or is too busy

Go to http://www.virustotal.com/en/indexf.html
Copy the following line into the white textbox:
c:\windows\system32\winlogon.exe
Click Send.
Please post the results of this scan to this thread.

Please go to Eset Onlinescan (NOD32)
  • You will then see the Terms of Use, tick the check-box infront of YES, I accept the Terms of Use
  • Now click Start
  • Should you face a Security Warning that asks if you want to install and run a file called "OnlineScanner.cab", click Yes
  • Click Start (the Onlinescanner will now prepare itself for running on your pc)
  • To do a full-scan, tick: "Remove found threats" and "Scan potentially unwanted applications"
  • Press Scan
  • The Onlinescan will now start and scan your pc (this could take a while)
  • When the scan has finished, it will show a screen with two tabs "overview" and "details" and the option to get information or buy software, just close the window
  • Click Start >> Run... >> type: C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt
  • The Scanresults will now open in Notepad
    • Click into the text area, right-click and chose "select all" (or use ctrl+a)
    • Right-click again and chose "copy" (or ctrl+c)
    • Close Notepad
  • Navigate to this thread and post your log along with anything else requested from us, by right-clicking and "paste" (or ctrl+v) in the text area of the reply post you just created.
Note for Vista Users: Eset is compatible but Internet Explorer must be run as Administrator. To do this, right-click on the IE icon in the Start Menu or Quick Launch Bar on the Taskbar and select "Run as Administrator" from the context menu.)

Thanks!!

One or more of the identified infections is a backdoor trojan and your computer "may" be compromised.
If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.

This is a case of our wanting to err on the side of caution with respect to the infections which have been present in the scans.

Here's what we need to do next:

Please download FileLook by jpshortstuff from one of these mirrors:
Link 1
Link 2
  • Double-click FileLook.exe to run it.
  • Ensure that the BBCode Ouput checkbox is checked.
  • Copy the content of the following codebox into the main textfield:

    winlogon.exe /s
  • Click the FileLook button to start the scan.
  • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.
Note: The log can also be found at C:\FileLook.txt

Upload file for scanning
We need some more information on the file in question.

c:\windows\system32\winlogon.exe

  • Copy/Paste the file in the quote box into the white Upload a file box.
  • Click Send/Submit, and the file will upload to VirusTotal/Jotti, where it will be scanned by several anti-virus programmes.
  • After a while, a window will open, with details of what the scans found.
  • Save the complete results in a Notepad/Word document on your desktop.

We will need the results of both scans in your next reply.
If I have helped you then please consider donating so I can continue the fight against malware Posted Image
All donations go directly to the helper

Due to the large amount of backlogs we have I cannot respond to PMs for help unless I am already working with you
