Hope this is the right place to ask about this. I have XP, and use IE7, and have DSL, and basically don't have many problems with browsing the internet and whatnot, but I noticed when I went to Blockbuster.com the other day that after the page had loaded, I still couldn't grab the scrolling bar on the side of the window. It took what I thought was a long time, especially since the page had loaded. Anyway, for the heck of it, I opened task manager and saw the iexplore.exe was at 100%, and then would go to 0, then maybe 30%, back to 0, and maybe back to 95-100%.......you get the idea. What I thought was odd was that it seemed to frequently go to 100% or darn near when I'm not doing anything except sitting there looking at the task manager. I've noticed this same type of "not being able to navigate" for a minute or so at Amazon and Ebay also. My thinking is that they are just incredibly busy sites, but I still don't get the cpu usage jumping around like that well after the page is loaded, but then, I'm not a computer whiz, hence the question.I also went to the Computer Haven forum before this, and when I was trying to edit a message I had posted there, the cpu usage was so high, I was waiting for my backspace key to work to fix a typo!!! That seemed really ridiculous! I had task manager open while typing and was watching the iexplore.exe stay at 100% or darn near the entire time......really weird. Anyway, I've posted my HijackThis log just to see if anyone sees anything out of place. I myself noticed a couple things with Symantec in them. Those most likely aren't the problem, and I'm pretty sure I can get rid of them, it just blows my mind anything from symantec is still on this system.....thought I searched high and low for all traces of NAV when I got rid of it. Anyway, appreciate anyone taking a look.Thanks in advance!

If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine. If you have not done so, include a description of your problem, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below a staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results, click no to the Optional_Scan
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet. Information on A/V control HERE
