Can I tag onto this topic without breaking BC rules? I/We do not have the identical problem as John above, but we sure have part of his trouble.

Of 3 XP Home PCs in the shop, 2 have developed an identical double-click problem.

Both PCs are desktops (one Dell, and one 6-month old fast assembled PC) no longer respond to double-click on files or folders. But if we Right-Click > Open the folders and/or files they open fine. We have tried different mice (mouses?) on each machine and checked Control Panel > Mouse settings. All are as they should be, but the problem persists.

How can we re-enable the double-click function on our two misbehaving machines?

(If this should have been a new topic, my apologies; and I shall re-post it properly.)

All best,
