Hi there,

For some reason my USB wireless network adapter will not allow me to connect to my home network and so i am having to resort to using an old laptop.
It has been connecting before but now it has suddenly stopped.

check to see that the drivers are still properly installed.....
test the usb adapter on another computer.....
try a system restore to a date you know everything was working.....

hopefully one of these will help

Well none of that worked but on closer inspection I noticed that the USB device is connecting at 130Mbps which doesn't work properly and doesn't allow me to connect to the internet. However, when it was working it was connecting at 54 Mbps. 54Mbps is also the speed at which the wireless on my laptop connects at.

Any advice?

Matt

Hi Mate,

Did you try uninstalling the drivers for your USB and reinstall it again. Also double check the wireless key for your wireless.

I dont know why it is giving 130Mbps. May be thats the range your wireless adapter supports but that shouldnt be any problem.

If you tried installing on the old laptop and if its not working there. May be your wireless adpater is not upto mark.

Cheers.
