which is faster

i have an A8AE-LE mb and was wandering which is faster the amd opteron 180 2.4 ghz socket 939 cpu or the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ Socket 939 Processor.

I believe the 4600+ Is faster.

I think a 4600+ would be faster like xXAlphaXx suggested. Although, I believe Opterons are usually used more in servers, so if you were going to start up a server, it may be the better choice. If it's just a personal computer, go with the 4600+

The socket 939 Opterons are largely identical to the Athlon 64's. Opterons do have more L2 cache and run at lower clock speeds. Both the Opteron 180 and the 4600+ has the same clock speed of 2.4 GHz.
